The AC101 configuration acts as a digital pre-amp allowing even excessive amounts of gain without digital distortion. A drive control determines where the audio “sits” in the saturation/compression region, and even the attack and release times of the distortion character are adjustable.

What is not as obvious, however, is the amount of control you have over your tone. The Drive controls in the distortion section have amp-like gain stages, or filtering options suited for guitar (can you say wah?) and other applications (synth tracks, back-beat break up, etc.). The Compressor is a nice design in its own right in my completely biased opinion.

Synthesizer One combines wave table and analog oscillators, a completely modular design, flexible filtering, and a dedicated effects section to produce inspiring leads, fat basses, and evolving synthetic textures. The Synthesizer One wavetable editor allows users to create unique waveforms for oscillators and LFOs. .
